Types of Data Collected

Falign may collect limited non-sensitive application and system information from the user's computer only if the user explicitly agrees.

The following categories of data may be collected:

Basic User Info: First name, last name, Windows account name, and domain information.
System Information: Operating system version and anonymized machine ID.
App Usage Data: Application run count, usage statistics, and session start and end times.
Location (approximate): Based on device-reported latitude and longitude, where permission is granted.
Error Logs: Error messages and timestamps used for troubleshooting and improving application reliability.

Falign does not collect or transmit the contents of files being backed up, file names, folder names, backup source paths, backup destination paths, or users' personal documents to Aonetara.

Mode and Place of Processing the Data

Methods of Processing

Where optional usage or diagnostic data is collected, it is collected only with the user's permission and securely transmitted to the application owner.

Files processed as part of backup operations remain under the user's control and are transferred only between the source and destination locations selected or configured by the user.

Falign does not upload users' backup files to Aonetara servers.

Retention Time

Any collected usage or diagnostic data is retained only as long as necessary to analyze usage trends, diagnose problems, and improve the application's functionality and reliability.

Backup files and their retention are controlled by the user and the backup settings configured within Falign.

Purposes of Processing

Information collected with the user's consent may be used to:

Understand how the application is used and improve user experience.
Identify and resolve bugs or errors.
Assess application performance and reliability.
Improve and optimize future versions of Falign.

Backup and File Access

Falign is a backup and file synchronization application. To perform the backup operations requested by the user, the application requires access to selected files and folders.

Falign may read, copy, create, replace, synchronize, or delete files and folders where necessary to perform the backup or synchronization operation configured by the user.

File names, folder names, paths, and file contents are processed locally as required to perform these operations.

Falign does not transmit these files, file contents, file names, or paths to Aonetara.

The user determines the source and destination of backup operations and remains responsible for selecting appropriate backup locations.

Email

The application may collect Windows user information that includes an email address if the user signs in to Windows using an email-based account and explicitly permits Falign to collect and send user profile information.

Falign does not access or collect the contents of the user's email.

Device Permissions and Personal Data Access

Falign may require access to:

Files and Folders: Required to read source files and create or synchronize backup copies at destinations selected by the user.
Local, removable, or network storage: Used when selected by the user as a backup source or destination.

Access is used only to perform functions requested or configured by the user.

Falign does not require access to Camera, Contacts, Microphone, or social media accounts for its backup functionality.

System Logs and Maintenance

Falign stores basic application logs locally, which may include backup activity, status information, errors, and timestamps. These logs are used to display backup history, diagnose problems, and improve application reliability.

Falign also stores application settings locally to remember user preferences and configured backup jobs.

Because backup jobs must identify their source and destination locations, locally stored Falign settings may contain folder or file-system paths required to perform scheduled or manually initiated backups.

These settings and local logs are not transmitted to Aonetara unless specifically stated and the user has consented to such transmission.

Scheduled Backups

Falign may create or use scheduled tasks to run backup operations at times configured by the user.

When a scheduled backup runs, Falign accesses the files, folders, and backup destinations associated with that backup job using the permissions available to the application or user account.

Scheduled backup information is stored locally as necessary for the application to perform the configured backup operations.

Third-Party Storage and Services

If the user selects a folder managed by another service, such as a network drive, cloud-synchronized folder, or external storage device, Falign treats that location as a file-system source or destination.

Any subsequent synchronization, storage, or processing performed by that third-party service is governed by the privacy policy and terms of that service.

Falign does not control how third-party storage providers process data after files have been placed in locations managed by those providers.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

The Owner reserves the right to amend this Privacy Policy at any time by notifying users through this page or within the application.

If a change introduces new collection or processing of personal data that requires user consent, renewed consent will be requested where required.
